Thanks to Austin, I produced a few possible visualizations to consider for the next generation of the QA/ticketing system. Double-mass plots are interesting, but they hide the dry seasons when no stations are reporting precipitation. I show a simple time series plot, but it is really useless. Finally, I plot the cumulative precipitation as a time series. This shows the dry periods as well as the wet ones. What do people think? Do we need to support both the double mass and the cumulative time series plot? Or just one of them? In both cases, we can support mouse-over and zoom. --Tom Thomas G.
