This cohort will address critical challenges facing humanity in the 21st century, integrating expertise in food, water, and energy required for systems-level solutions. Collectively, these hires will address natural resource management, agricultural competitiveness, and resilience through engagement with stakeholders as they balance human outcomes and ecosystem services in managed landscapes. Open positions include: 1. Landscape Biogeochemistry. Expertise in the function, management, ecosystem services, and consequences of nutrient cycles in managed or human-impacted landscapes. Integrated physical, chemical, and biological process dynamics. Expertise may include coupling biogeochemical cycles to human activities and natural infrastructure, disturbance response and recovery, and/or intentional manipulation of biogeochemical systems (e.g., root zone engineering).
