Let's fill the room and show him we're more awesome than Michigan and GATech! cheers -- Bill *Consumer Robotics at Amazon Lab126Darnell Moore (Amazon Lab 126)* *Abstract: *Astro is a new and different kind of robot, one that’s designed to help customers with a range of tasks like home monitoring and keeping in touch with family. It brings together new advancements in artificial intelligence, computer vision, sensor technology, and voice and edge computing in a package that’s designed to be helpful and convenient. Dr. Moore will talk about Astro, consumer robotics at Lab126, and Amazon’s University Partnership Programs. *Bio: *Dr. Darnell Moore is an engineer with broad and deep expertise ranging from embedded [processing and computer vision to machine learning. With more than two decades in research and development, he is a proven technical leader and disciplined manager with a track record of productive collaboration, new product development, and technical program management. In his current role, he is driving the global strategy for one of Amazon's University Partnership programs. Prior to Amazon, Darnell was a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff (DMTS) at Texas Instruments, where he managed and directed one of TI's most talented R&D Labs focusing on sensor fusion and environmental modeling for ADAS, autonomous vehicles and robotics. DMTS title holders are elected by peers and represent no more than 2% of TI'seligible technical population.
