Good Afternoon, My name is Hannah Cairney, and I am currently on the planning committee for the 2024 Colorado WASH Symposium. The symposium is an entirely-student run conference hosted as a hybrid event at the University of Colorado Boulder focused on providing a platform for sharing and expanding collective knowledge in the field of water, sanitation, and hygiene in both domestic and international contexts. Since its establishment in 2012, the symposium has brought together leaders and WASH practitioners in social enterprises, the private sector, NGOs, academia, and development agencies every year for a two-day conference filled with networking events, panels, presentations, posters, and interactive sessions. The Colorado WASH Symposium is deliberately small and intimate - designed around in-depth conversations and unrushed sessions where each individual’s contribution is valued. I noticed that your Humanitarian Engineering program seems closely aligned with our mission statement and is similar to our program here at CU and am reaching out to see if anyone involved in your program would be interested in submitting an abstract to be a presenter at our conference. This year’s symposium will be held both in-person and virtually on March 7th and 8th, 2024 and, in keeping with a tradition of accessibility and community engagement, the event is free and open to anyone interested in attending. Abstract submissions are due this Friday, December 1st, but registration will be opening by early January and will remain open until the symposium.
