It has over 50 geospatial companies as member organizations from over 20 countries. WGIC's goal is to serve as a collaborative platform that promotes the advancement of the geospatial industry and enhances its impact on the global economy and society. The mission of WGIC is to facilitate knowledge exchange within and between industries and create greater business opportunities for the geospatial industry. This will be achieved through policy advocacy, business development, and collaborative programs. As part of the WGIC Industry-Academia Committee, we are contacting you to request your input on a survey aimed at gathering insights on industry engagement and student career pathways within the geospatial sector from academic institutions. The survey aims to identify the talent gap between academia and the geospatial industry by fostering collaboration and aligning educational goals with industry requirements. Additionally updates to the Feature Services utilized by the NGS Map are coming soon. Alpha SPCS2022 Experience The Alpha SPCS2022 Experience was upgraded from using Raster Tile Layers to Tiled Image Layers. Instead of simply viewing images of the distortion layers, users can now click and retrieve pixel values for the distortion on all layers. Additionally, users can now bring these layers into their own online maps or desktop maps and extract or reclassify the raster data. Finally, the application's updated responsive design improves usability on computers and mobile devices. Datasheet Shapefiles NGS recently updated the Datasheet shapefiles<https://nam04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Flinks-1.g…>, moving the beta format to production and retiring the old format. The now singular Datasheet shapefile format includes the more expansive list of fields that was popular in the beta format.
