The purpose of this document is to communicate NGS' research and investment over both the short (i.e., next two years) and long-term (i.e., next decade) planning horizons. Providing long-term research themes allows governmental partner agencies, academic collaborators, and commercial industry insight to NGS' plans to prepare and address the nation's geodetic control needs for the next 10-15 years. The NGS research plan is aligned with NOAA's FY22-26 strategic plan vision of building a climate ready nation and recognizes the intrinsic connection between weather, water, and climate systems, linked through the hydrologic cycle, driven by ocean, land, and atmospheric processes. Scheduling GCAP Regularly-Occurring Meetings

Hi GCAP Members, Thanks to everyone for the great kickoff meeting to our NGS Geospatial Modeling Grant last week! As a next step in scheduling our Task Team meetings and All Hands Meetings, please complete the WhenIsGood poll below, indicating your availability for regularly-occurring meetings. Please note that the intent of this poll is to capture days/times you are typically available most weeks so that we can create series of meetings extending over several weeks. Therefore, if you are not available at one of the times listed, but that day/time usually works for you, please go ahead and select it. For anyone who would like to sign up to receive NGS updates, you can click the "Manage Subscriptions" link at the bottom of the newsletter. After entering your email, it will take you to a list of a number of different program offices and projects that you can subscribe to. I'm signed up to receive a few from both NGS and OCS, but the ones most relevant to GCAP are probably: NGS News, NGS Training, and NGS Webinars. Hi GCAP Members, A few quick updates related to our Center and our NGS Geospatial Modeling Grant: 1. Colin Becker at NGS passed on that each of our 8 tasks will be assigned an NGS Subject Matter Expert (SME), who will meet with the task team periodically. 2. I'm not sure when the SMEs will be assigned, but we should schedule an internal GCAP kickoff meeting ahead of time to discuss task team assignments and next steps.
