Subject: Apply by 3/24 City of Salem Hiring - Seasonal Natural Resource Technician "Stream Crew and Riparian Assessment Lead"

[This email originated from outside of OSU. Use caution with links and attachments.]

Dear OSU Faculty and Partners,

I am pleased to share the City of Salem’s Public Works Stormwater Quality is hiring for a seasonal (up to 6-Months) Natural Resource Technician “Stream Crew and Riparian Assessment Lead” position.

This is a great opportunity for those with an Associates Degree (or higher)  in natural resources or relevant studies; and 2 years of related experience; or any combination of related education/experience.

Online applications are due by March 24th, available at https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/cityofsalem/jobs/4862485/stream-crew-and-riparian-assessment-lead-seasonal .  The posting is also attached here as a PDF.

The Natural Resource Technician will help lead the 2025 Summer Stream Crew college interns, and also help prepare for the 2025 Stream Crew season including coordinating crew trainings and assisting with pre-season stream inspections.

The techs will also assist with conducting assessments of stream reaches of Pringle Creek, utilizing a model akin to the  “Stream Function Assessment Method’ (SFAM) which is used for both State and Federal permit purposes.

Note:  The Natural Resource Technician is a Crew Lead position and is NOT the regular Stream Crew college internship position.  I’ll send a separate email for the 2025 Summer Stream Crew college internships job posting when available online in the coming weeks.

Please feel welcome to share widely and to reach out if you have any questions about this opportunity.

Thanks so much!

Luke W.
