Oregon State University in Corvallis, OR is located within the traditional homelands of the Marys River or Ampinefu Band of Kalapuya.  Following the Willamette Valley Treaty of 1855 (Kalapuya etc. Treaty),  Kalapuya people were forcibly removed to reservations in Western Oregon. Today, living descendants of these people are a part of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde Community of Oregon (https://www.grandronde.org) and the Confederated Tribes of the Siletz Indians (http://ctsi.nsn.us).

Greetings CAS Students!

The 2024 NZ Educational Tour in September, led by Dr. Serkan Ates (Associate Professor, Animal and Rangeland Sciences), Dr. Tom Maxwell (Lincoln University) and myself will bring OSU students to the beautiful South and North Islands of New Zealand. The tour is scheduled from Sept 10 – Sept 24 (in-country dates). Additional details forthcoming.

 

On January 26, in StAg 240 and via Zoom from 2:00-3:00, Dr. Ates will provide an info session about the September educational tour.  Please join us to learn more about this exciting opportunity.
