Oregon State University in Corvallis, OR is located within the traditional homelands of the Marys River or Ampinefu Band of Kalapuya.  Following the Willamette Valley Treaty of 1855 (Kalapuya etc. Treaty),  Kalapuya people were forcibly removed to reservations in Western Oregon. Today, living descendants of these people are a part of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde Community of Oregon (https://www.grandronde.org) and the Confederated Tribes of the Siletz Indians (http://ctsi.nsn.us).

Want to get involved in hands-on learning outside of the classroom?

Applications for the Winter/Spring 2025 Beginning Researcher Support Program are now open!

What to do:

1. Check out the 19 available research projects, each mentored by a College of AgSci faculty member.
2. Submit an application by Friday, Nov 1 @ 5pm PST and indicate your top 2 projects.
3. If matched to a project, participate in cutting-edge research during Winter and Spring 2025 terms (and get paid to do it!).
4. Create and present a research poster after competing your project.

Who is eligible?

• College of Agricultural Sciences undergraduate students (must for currently enrolled and in good standing)
• Preference will be given to freshmen, sophomores, first-year transfers, or other students who do not have previous research experience.
• Ecampus students are encouraged to apply - some of the projects require Corvallis-based lab or field work, but others are hybrid or entirely remote.
