Clean Water Showcase

May 21-22, 2024

Across the globe, access to clean water is threatened by population growth, climate change, industrial and agricultural pollution, and other pressures. Join us at the 2024 Clean Water Showcase, hosted by Oregon State University, to learn more about innovative and leading work to protect this precious resource. The event will feature talks by keynote speakers, panel discussions, student presentations, and professional development activities. 

Dean’s Distinguished Lecture: Klamath Dam Removal

Mark Bransom, Ph.D. civil and environmental engineering '97 

Chief Executive Officer, Klamath River Renewal Corporation

Hear from Mark Bransom about the cooperative effort to reestablish the natural vitality of the Klamath River to support all communities in the Klamath Basin. Mark will detail the journey KRRC has been on to decommission four dams along the Klamath River to restore river health; provide favorable economic, environmental, and societal impacts; and address stakeholder concerns. 

 

Following the lecture, Mark will join a panel of experts to discuss the project and its impact on the region.
