Oregon State University in Corvallis, OR is located within the traditional homelands of the Marys River or Ampinefu Band of Kalapuya. Following the Willamette Valley Treaty of 1855 (Kalapuya etc. Treaty),
Kalapuya people were forcibly removed to reservations in Western Oregon. Today, living descendants of these people are a part of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde Community of Oregon (https://www.grandronde.org)

Subject: Reminder: NRCS Hiring TOMORROW + Thurs!
Hello CAS students,
I hope your week is off to a great start, and you’re looking forward to attending the Spring All Industries Career & Internship Fair on Wednesday!
As a reminder, the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) will be on-site tomorrow (Wednesday) April 17th and Thursday, April 18th, and will be doing DIRECT HIRING. If you are a senior or graduate student
finishing your degree in June, you are eligible to apply for full time positions!
Even if you are not graduating in June, please come to this event to learn more about the NRCS and make valuable connections with NRCS staff. This is an AWESOME opportunity to make connections with folks within the federal government as
well as get insight into future hiring opportunities.
What is Direct Hiring?
Direct hiring is an opportunity for you to be screened immediately to verify qualifications, then apply through USA Jobs after you have been found qualified and given a tentative offer. HR folks from NRCS will be present to review your
transcripts and resumes, and conduct interviews.
What are they hiring for?
Lots of entry-level, full-time positions, including Soil Conservationists, Natural Resources Specialists, Rangeland Management Specialists, Agronomists, Engineers, and Foresters!
Who is eligible?
If you have obtained an undergraduate degree or higher, or WILL be graduating between now and June 2024, you will be eligible to apply during this event. Additional positions are available after June 2024, so show up either way!
How do I apply?
Bring your unofficial transcripts, a copy of your resume (can be industry, doesn’t need to be federal) and a laptop or tablet for the application.
When and where is it?
Come to the Career Fair on April 17th from 11am-3pm in CH2M, or on April 18th, to Strand Hall #168 from 9am – 4pm.
Feel free to email me with additional questions! I have also included a copy of a sample NRCS resume so that you know what you will be expected to eventually submit (you can apply with a standard resume, but will still have to later
apply through USA Jobs).
Have a great day, and take care!
Best wishes and warmest regards,
Katie Harvey | she/her/hers
