Oregon State University in Corvallis is located within the traditional homelands of the Marys River or Ampinefu Band of Kalapuya. Following the Willamette Valley Treaty of 1855,
Kalapuya people were forcibly removed to reservations in Western Oregon. Today, living descendants of these people are part of the Confederated
Tribes of Grand Ronde Community of Oregon and the Confederated
Tribes of the Siletz Indians. Indigenous people are valued, contributing members of the Oregon State community and represent multiple sovereign tribes among students, faculty, staff and alumni.

Dear Khrystal,
I was referred to you by your recent graduate, Olivia Pereyra, who served as an intern here at Elderberry Wisdom Farm last year. She thought you might be willing to share our TEK SummerInternship opportunity
with your Native American and other students of color.
The Native American non-profit corporation, Elderberry Wisdom Farm, located in rural Marion County, is recruiting Native American and other students of color for our Summer Habitat Restoration Internship. This is especially for those individuals who would
like to learn more about Traditional Ecological Knowledge and how they can strengthen their career pathway planning into habitat restoration, organic farming and related conservation careers. We provide a stipend of $3,000 for those who complete our 9-week
internship which includes classroom education and experiential service learning activities in our local ecosystem. We also provide additional ongoing training and work opportunities.
The announcement is attached. If you would be willing to forward it to your students, we thank you so much! Please let me know if you have questions and I’ll be happy to follow up with you.
