A century's worth of sediment that has piled up behind the dams will also flow downriver. By submitting the FAFSA, a student will be considered for federal, state, and institutional need-based grants and federal student loans. Some grants have limited funding, so the earlier a student submits their FAFSA, the better chance they have to receive those first-come-first-served grants. Oregon residents who are not eligible to file a FAFSA may submit the Oregon Student Aid Application (ORSAA)<https://nam04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Foregonstu…> to be considered for need-based state grants. Submitting the 2024-2025 ORSAA application early will increase a student's chances of receiving some of the limited funding that is available. Many OSU scholarships have a financial need requirement and the information from the FAFSA/ORSAA is used to determine eligibility for those scholarships.
