Students will conduct geologic fieldwork in Humboldt Bay coastal marshes, collect marsh sediment cores, conduct laboratory analysis on the cores, and explore how these geologic data are integrated into the geophysical models that help characterize past earthquakes along the Cascadia subduction zone. At the end of the program, students will synthesize and present their findings to their peers, mentors, and local community. C2C seeks a broad applicant pool with the goal of engaging a new, diverse generation of coastal geologists and modelers. Students from minority-serving institutions or who identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and people of color), Latinx, LGBTQ+, or first-generation college students will have priority during the selection process. OSU Assist: Mobile Crisis Response OSU Assist is a multi-disciplinary support team that provides compassionate mobile crisis response and wraparound services for students facing mental health challenges or experiencing other forms of distress. NOTICE: Crane Activity Between ALS Building & Nash Hall Effective Date(s): Thursday, September 12 A crane will be working in the walkway area between the Agricultural and Life Sciences Building and Nash Hall on Thursday, September 12. The crane will be lifting materials needed for new cooling towers onto the roof of the ALS Building. The walkway area between the two buildings will be closed. Both buildings will remain open during the crane activity. The south sidewalk in this section of Campus Way will be closed. The north sidewalk will remain open. The loading zone parking spaces outside of Nash Hall will be closed. Other possible impacts include noise near the work site. I am a graduate of University of Oregon as of 2021 and previously have worked for the University of Oregon in one of their Academic Support units containing the departments of Psychology, Human Physiology and Linguistics.
