Engineering Student Council Upcoming Club Kickoffs

Hello and Welcome to Fall 2021 from the Engineering Student Council! College of Engineering "Cookies & Clubs" Fair Tuesday, September 21, 2-4 pm Engineering Community Plaza (between Johnson Hall and Kelley Engineering Center) The Engineering Student Council invites you to Cookies and Clubs, the OSU College of Engineering annual club fair, which takes place Tuesday, September 21st from 2pm-4pm. This is your opportunity to learn about the 50+ clubs and student organizations within the College of Engineering. This year, there will be an in-person and virtual version of the event. The in-person event will take place at the Engineering Community Plaza between Kelley Engineering Center and Johnson Hall. In addition to learning about new clubs, students will also receive cookies and be entered into a raffle! These clubs are actively looking for new members and would be excited to have you join! App Development Club: The App Development Club provides members with opportunities to practice app development and learn more about relevant topics. The club focuses on development for iOS, Android, and the web, and is open to many other platforms. We're beginner-friendly and excited to announce that we will be hosting weekly workshops which will cover various programming tools, concepts, and technologies. Association for Computing Machinery: The Oregon State University ACM Student Chapter is an officially recognized ACM chapter focused on competitive programming, technical interview strategy, and sharing industry knowledge in a fun environment. Our flagship event is competing at the ACM International Collegiate Programming Competition (ICPC), one of the world's largest, oldest, and most prestigious programming competitions. Our mission is to enhance Computer Science learning through the exchange of ideas between students and established professionals, faculty, and other students. This Fall term our club will meet on-campus weekly, Thursdays from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm in KEC 1007. Our first meeting is on September 30th. OSU Robotics Club: The OSU Robotics Club is one of the largest student-run clubs at Oregon State University, comprising nearly 200 members! Each year, the club runs multiple project teams such as the Mars Rover team, Aerial team, Underwater Rov team, and Drone Racing Team, to help our members become better engineers and to gain real-world experience. The club provides a stocked workspace in Merryfield Hall with computer workstations, soldering stations, electrical components, 3D printers, and tools available for use by all our members. Our officers hold office hours where members can come and ask for help on schoolwork or projects. Oregon State University Security Club: Anyone interested in being involved in the security community, join us at the Oregon State University Security Club. We are a community formed around a shared interest in cybersecurity, offering members a hands-on experience in many areas of cybersecurity. Join us in learning and exploring physical security, digital security, forensics, OSINT, lock-picking, and more. OSUSEC participates in Capture The Flag (CTF) and Cyber Defense Competitions (CDC). We also run a weekly internal practice CTF competition called the CTF League, led by experienced members so you can hone your skills (with prizes!).
