Dear EECS Students,
We are looking for participants for an interesting research study (IRB #HE-2023-391) on the use of filters for image privacy.
Study Details
- The purpose of this study is to investigate the tradeoff between privacy and user convenience for photo uploads to third party sites.
- As a participant, you will be shown a variety of obfuscated images and asked questions pertaining to them (what can you identify, which images matches the
given prompt, etc.).
- The study is estimated to take around an hour and will be conducted remotely over Teams (audio may be recorded with your consent for the purposes of data enrichment).
Participation
- The study images are not inappropriate, but participation is restricted to adults residing in the US.
- This study is part of a thesis project within Rakesh Bobba’s & Dave Nevin’s research group. Participation, or lack thereof, will not influence your class standing,
club standing, or relationship with any of the involved parties or OSU itself.
- Study participants will be entered into a drawing for one of three $20 Amazon gift cards.
If you would like to participate between now and 7/29, please reach out Brandon Ellis
