Welcome to fall term! It is great to have you back in class, and getting our year off to an excellent start. This year, I encourage you to set a goal to "get connected". This means building your network and connecting with employers, which takes time, effort and planning. Now is the time to start, too, because internships and other opportunities for next summer are already becoming available. You can build your professional network by: * Participating in school-sponsored events that bring industry to campus, both in-person and virtually. These include Company Days, Webinar Wednesdays, and Networking Nights. Watch for Tina Batten's emails and visit the EECS Portal<https://eecs.oregonstate.edu/portal/student-homepage>. * Joining a student club<https://groups.engr.oregonstate.edu/esc/college-engineering-sponsored-student-organizations> and working on projects with your peers-faculty can also help suggest other opportunities to connect in your area of interest. * Getting to know your advisors and faculty, who provide channels to opportunities at OSU and beyond-they are here to support you! Besides your degree and your educational experience, a solid professional network may be the most valuable thing you will take away from your time at OSU. So, go ahead and get connected and Go Beavs!
