TDK      Intern – MEMS Sensor chip design, test and characterization (Corvallis, OR with some travel) 

This internship involves electrical testing and characterization of MEMS devices. TDK produces various MEMS piezo electric actuator devices and prototype products for new sensing applications in life sciences. Works with a with a team of chip design, manufacturing and system testing engineers. Intern will first familiarize themselves with the chip design aspects, followed by developing testing and characterization methods of sensor chip using various instrument interfaces and test protocols. Responsibilities: 1) Develop test method using signal generators and amplifiers; 2) High speed data acquisition systems (1MSa/s), analysis and graphical presentations; 3) Hands on expertise with various chip to electrical instrument connections (such as SMA connectors) 4) Creative problem solving to provide timely data for design recommendations; 5) Familiarity with MATLAB and related analysis tools; 6) Document and present testing results and make design recommendations. 7) Core expertise - EE/MEMS with PZT actuators design and testing. $40/hr  (maximum) depending on expertise and minimum
