Final Summer Deadline Reminders

Hello, As we enter Week 5 of the Summer term, we wanted to remind you of the following deadlines for Session 3 (all CoE classes take place during the Session 3 schedule). The last day to change the grading basis of a course is August 2 by 12:00pm noon (PT). As a reminder, courses that are needed for your major are not eligible for change of grading basis (S/U). Major courses must be completed with a regular letter grade (A-F). The last day to withdraw from a course with no refund is August 2 by 11:55pm (PT). Call for Participants for an IRB Approved Study (HE-2023-391)

Dear EECS Students, We are looking for participants for an interesting research study (IRB #HE-2023-391) on the use of filters for image privacy. Study Details * The purpose of this study is to investigate the tradeoff between privacy and user convenience for photo uploads to third party sites. * As a participant, you will be shown a variety of obfuscated images and asked questions pertaining to them (what can you identify, which images matches the given prompt, etc.). * The study is estimated to take around an hour and will be conducted remotely over Teams (audio may be recorded with your consent for the purposes of data enrichment). Participation * The study images are not inappropriate, but participation is restricted to adults residing in the US. * This study is part of a thesis project within Rakesh Bobba’s & Dave Nevin’s research group. Participation, or lack thereof, will not influence your class standing, club standing, or relationship with any of the involved parties or OSU itself. * Study participants will be entered into a drawing for one of three $20 Amazon gift cards.
