OSU ScholarDollars is Oregon State University's online scholarship search and application portal! Deadline is approaching - February 15th What is ScholarDollars?<https://nam04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fscholarsh…> Starting November 1st, OSU students can use OSU ScholarDollars to submit an application for the almost $15 million in donor-funded scholarships available for the 2024-2025 academic year. By submitting an application, you will be considered for over 2,500 OSU scholarship opportunities. Submit your OSU ScholarDollars application between November 1, 2023 and February 15, 2024 to maximize the number of scholarships you will be considered for. Most OSU scholarships have application deadlines on or after February 15, 2024, but specific deadlines may vary. Only one application is needed to apply for qualifying scholarships. Newly-admitted and continuing OSU students are eligible to apply for scholarships through OSU ScholarDollars. Students must have been admitted to OSU and have an active ONID account to be able to log into the system and submit an application. Merit-based, need-based, and activity-based OSU scholarships are available, and OSU ScholarDollars also offers a searchable database of external scholarships. New AI Course in Winter - CS 499 Intro to Probabilistic and Causal Reasoning

Hello Everyone! EECS will have a brand new Artificial Intelligence course offered by Dr. Karthika Mohan. This course starts with AI and probabilistic reasoning basics, highlighting probability theory's role in AI, especially in uncertain environments. Students then learn to model complex systems and make predictions using Bayesian Networks. The second half focuses on causal reasoning, which is essential for distinguishing correlation from causation and has applications in various fields such as machine learning, statistics, epidemiology and economics. Causal knowledge is key for creating accurate real-world models, informed decision-making and building ethical and responsible AI systems.
