At BMS, the Cell Therapy organization is focused on novel cellular immunotherapies based on two distinct and complementary platforms – Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CARs) and T Cell Receptor (TCRs) technologies. Our goal is to revolutionize medicine by re-engaging the body’s immune system to treat cancer. At the core of that mission are the talented individuals who contribute their unique skill sets to help us drive innovation and deliver truly life-changing drugs for our patients. BMS is looking for individuals who are passionate about cell therapy and interested in working with a team of scientists and engineers in developing T cell-based medicines. In addition to their project assignments, interns will have opportunities to attend community-building functions including speaker sessions and recreational activities, throughout the summer. At the conclusion of the program, interns will present their project progress to their teams and leaders. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESONSIBILITIES · Projects will be identified closer to start date and could provide interns to work in: Cell Therapy Strategy and Business Operations, Manufacturing Science and Technology, Cell Therapy Technology and Platforms, Quality, or Supply Chain · Responsibilities could include: · Generating or analyzing data, perform data verification, interpret data, and prepare final reports to summarize findings · Collaborating on project investigations · Communicating proactively with supervisor and colleagues highlighting challenges and proposing solutions · Providing troubleshooting support for your project with supervisor assistance as needed · Presenting final project to the greater CTDO organization PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EDUCATION · Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Biology, Biochemistry, or related fields · High scholastic achievement (include your cumulative/overall GPA on your resume, minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred) · Leadership experience in an academic or extracurricular organization or activity · Research experience from a previous laboratory position, internship, or similar venue · Basic knowledge of primary cell culture and bioanalytical methods · Scientific curiosity and a passion for problem solving · The ability to thrive in a collaborative team · Strong communication skills WORKING CONDITIONS · Program will run from June to August 2023 · Interns will be employed full-time (~40 hours/week) · Interns will work with various departments within many levels of the organization SUPERVISION RECEIVED · Supervised by hiring manager (manager will vary depending on project) Around the world, we are passionate about making an impact on the lives of patients with serious diseases.
