Janicki Industries is an innovative, family-owned aerospace company located at the foot of the Cascades. We focus on engineering and manufacturing complex projects for companies in the aerospace, defense, and space industries. We are looking for a Production Intern to join our growing team.

Interns are college students who work for Janicki Industries to obtain work experience-e in their specified field of study within engineering.  They may work part-time while attending college or they may work during a college break, e.g.  spring break, summer break, or winter break.   Work assignments are made by the Department Manager and will also depend upon the projects currently available at the time the student is employed. 

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Specific job functions will depend upon the actual department in which the intern will be working and the specific project to which the intern is assigned but may include layup, assembly, mill operation, use of hand tools, etc.   The functions listed below are general in nature and apply to all production interns.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

·  Reads and understands blue prints, isometric drawings and work orders.

·  Receives and carries out directions from designated Supervisors and Production Leads.

·  Understands and complies with Safety and 5S.

·  Understands and complies with  AS9100 and Nadcap Practices and Procedures as applicable.

·  Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly, FOD free condition.

·  Performs on the job training for Project Certifications, AS9100, NADCAP training and other training as required.

·  Works in other Cells to support Production as required, i.e.; Mill, Mold/Fab or Assembly Cells. Must be willing to work on the production shift schedule.

·  Performs other duties as assigned.

·  Being at work on time and maintaining good attendance is a condition of employment and is an essential function of your job.

QUALIFICATIONS

·  Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

·  Currently attending a community, technical or four year college with study focused in a manufacturing or engineering discipline.

·  Prefer first or second year students.

·  Must be able to sit, stand, or crouch down for extended periods. Must be able to climb ladders and work platforms. May be exposed to noise, dust, dirt, and paint fumes.  Must be able to work under hot and cold conditions. Personal protective equipment (PPE), safety glasses and respirator will be required. Must be comfortable working within confined spaces and at various heights.

·  Must be able to work well in an integrated, multidisciplinary, collaborative, team environment, including daily interactions with technicians, millwrights, machinists, engineers, and managers.

·  Must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines.  The incumbent shall; at all times demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.

·  Attention to detail and a high degree of quality is required.

·  Must possess effective oral and written communication skills in the English language.
