As part of our continued success, Landau Associates is seeking an Early Career Environmental Engineer / Civil Engineer. This position will be based in one of the following locations: Seattle, WA, Tacoma, WA, Olympia, WA, or Portland, OR.

The successful candidate will initially be responsible for performing a wide range of environmental and civil engineering tasks. This may include:

• Conducting industrial facility inspections, assessing pollutant source control best management practices (BMPs), and preparing stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPPs)
• Supporting technical evaluation of data, conducting regulatory file reviews, assessing industrial stormwater permit compliance, and assisting clients with BMP or treatment improvements
• Performing site development permitting and engineering design tasks related to project / site feasibility, drainage review and reporting, erosion control, and grading
• Performing quantity take-offs and cost estimating
• Assisting with developing engineering plans and specifications under the guidance of a Professional Engineer
• Assisting in the production of discharge monitoring report submittals and technical reports
• Preparing written documentation for permit applications
• Implementing field activities, such as:

o Stormwater, groundwater, soil gas, wastewater, soil, and sediment sample collection

o Operation and maintenance of existing stormwater treatment systems

• Supporting compliance assessment, management, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes
• Preparing scope and cost estimates for environmental consulting support

Travel within the Pacific NW region and occasional early morning, evening or weekend work may be required.

Qualifications:

• B.S. or M.S. in environmental, civil, or chemical engineering with related coursework in hydraulics and hydrology, environmental chemistry, and/or wastewater treatment
• 1-4 years of relevant professional experience
• Registration as an EIT or PE is required
• Strong technical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
• Knowledge and experience with State and Federal environmental regulations in the Pacific Northwest is preferred

Landau Associates offers an excellent compensation and benefits package in an environment that promotes personal growth and professional advancement. The salary range for this position is $80,000 – $90,000. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, including education, experience, performance, location, and internal equity.
