After graduating with a chemical engineering degree from OSU in 2020 Coburn worked as a post-grad intern in Global Procurement at Genentech in South San Francisco. Upon completion of that internship,
I moved into a full-time reliability engineering role at the Hillsboro Technical Operations campus, where I focused on maintenance optimization via hands-on experience and data analytics. Most recently, I made a career pivot to data & analytics engineering,
and now serve the entire Hillsboro campus at Genentech.
Genentech: Known as the birthplace of biotechnology, Genentech was founded in South San Francisco and focuses
on the development, manufacturing, and delivery of treatments to patients. In Oregon, Genentech has three main sites - Hillsboro Technical Operations (HTO), Hillsboro Innovative Therapies (HIT), and Portland Access Solutions. As Genentech is part of the Roche
Group, the two sites in Hillsboro serve as drug product manufacturing sites for patients across the world, and the Portland site directly serves patients via programs such as the Genentech Patient Foundation.
Career tips & advice: Tianna will focus on crafting a resume and application for Hillsboro's job offerings,
how to get your foot in the door, and what your first job could look like. Plus, Tianna talk about how to navigate the corporate space when early-in-career.
