Join the Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) Biomedical Engineering (BME) Department for a summer training opportunity focused on the mission of the American Heart Association (AHA) to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. Located in Portland, OR, this program will provide training in experimental design, data science and analysis, and scientific writing. The internship includes participation in grand rounds in the medical school, experience in clinical shadowing as well as training in ethics, protection of human subjects, scientific writing, and experimental design. Positions are available in the cardiovascular research laboratories led by Drs. Monica Hinds, Owen McCarty, Sandra Rugonyi, Joe Aslan, and Karina Nakayama. Program dates The 2022 BME Summer Internship will begin in June/July and continue for 10 weeks. Start and end dates are flexible. Eligibility This internship is ideal for undergraduates with backgrounds in health sciences, math, physics, or engineering. Students must have completed their Sophomore year or are in their Junior and Senior years. Program will also accept recent graduates. Sironix has invented and developed a new surfactant molecule that will make our consumer products work better and benefit our environment. About you: An intern at Sironix Renewables is joining the forefront of green chemistry, bio-renewables, and product development. You will be working directly with Sironix R&D experts to develop new surfactants and develop catalytic chemistries for scale-up and manufacturing. Tasks require management of simultaneous research projects, effective communication with collaborators, and a resourceful and creative attitude. The position: This is a paid summer internship position ($22/hr) at our headquarters in Seattle, WA, that includes an opportunity for continued employment with demonstrated performance and success. The process engineering group is responsible for development and integration of new processes in our factory as well as ongoing factory sustaining activities (defect reduction, etc.). Our internship program runs 3-4 months over the summer term and is project based, so the intern will likely be working on part of a process development/evaluation project, however, they will still gain exposure to the demands of a volume production environment. Production Engineer CORVALLIS, OR Inpria, a subsidiary of JSR Corporation, has an immediate opening for a Staff Production Engineer based in Corvallis, OR. You will join our diverse team of talent and contribute to our High Volume Manufacturing Operations team by supporting and maintaining our EUV photoresist production line processes. Your experience in handling high-purity chemicals, quality management systems, and knowledge of analytical metrology tool sets will help fuel our company's growth, support our key customers, and provide you with opportunities to expand your career. Primary Responsibilities: *Own formulating frequent, repeatable EUV photoresist batches on our production line for worldwide customer delivery *Maintain flexibility to support and streamline standard and non-standard formulation production runs *Perform hands-on analytical measurements of in-process samples and other simple wet-bench chemistry, including use of laboratory fume hoods and inert gloveboxes *Communicate and engage with a diverse team of chemists, engineers, and technicians *Document data and ensure data integrity, demonstrating good lab book practices and quality control metrics *Analyze data using statistical control methods, respond to process deviations, and report findings to production team led by Director of Engineering *Conduct experiments on incoming materials to maintain supply assurance *Create and update controlled documentation of each process step *Improve data tracking protocols, including quality control metrics *Qualify changes in coordination with management, equipment, and quality groups *Use quality management systems to escalate process deviations to material review board *Develop and update process and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID) and work with equipment engineers to ensure capital projects fulfil Inpria's scale-up needs *Work in cleanroom environments and practice clean handling procedures to minimize contamination Production Engineer Key Qualifications: *BS or MS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent through experience *0-2 years experience working in a production scale position *Demonstration of active and effective communication skills, verbal and written *Well organized, flexible, enthusiastic, and eager to learn *Experience with high-purity chemical handling is a plus Knowledge of lithographic materials is a plus *Experience with JMP or statistical data analysis is beneficial *Self-driven and proactive in achieving goals *Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment Compensation & Benefits: Inpria offers competitive compensation and an excellent benefits package, including health insurance and 401k match.
